Yesterday I sent Swamp Home‘s 49000th revision to my publisher. My fault not hers. I sent two versions of the last page. The first is the expected romantic togetherness. I enjoy ending my books with a proposal of marriage. The answer is obvious, but not definite. She or he could bolt.
The second edition of the ending did have, of course, the romance, but it also hinted about the possibilities of a fourth book, Gray Lace. It’s an historical explaining the character’s choice of a present time setting. I’ve read successful authors who’ve done this and wanted to give my beloved publisher, Rebel Ink Press, the option of dumping my swampy stories. Did I assume too much? I do have a habit of assumption.
Wait! Within hours she replied “I love assumptions. Send me the information so we can contract Gray Lace.” I’m dancing in the kitchen right now. I’d better get busy and write the rest of the story.
Enough!
